The first German -Polish Festival for Young Musicians, Bremen 2017

The first German -Polish Festival for Young Musicians, including a festive end-of-festival concert, takes place from the 15. to the 18. of September 2017 in Bremen. Organizer is the newly founded Support Association (Förderverein) for young Musicians from Germany and Poland. The concert is being held in the upper grand hall of the magnificent 15th century town hall of Bremen, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The festival is aimed at furthering the musical education of young German and Polish musicians and music students. 50 talented students from different universities and colleges in both countries have the opportunity to hone their skills under the tutelage of outstanding music teachers and established professional musicians.

At the same time, the festival enables an across the board comparison of teaching methods but most of all it provides an opportunity for long-term student exchange and personal contacts across borders.

The music workshops are flanked by expert lectures and discussion forums on the subject of modern teaching methods. All is culminating in a celebratory concert on the last day of the festival.

At its core, the festival is dedicated to youth exchange and the promotion of friendship and understanding, at the same time, the initiative aims to activate and strengthen the broader relationship of Bremen and Poland.

The festival is held under the patronage of the Senator for Finance and Deputy Mayor of Bremen, Mrs. Karoline Linnert, the Mayor of Gdansk, Mr. Pawel Adamowicz and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Hamburg.
