Dear friends,
The VII. German-Polish Festival for Young Musicians, Bremen 2023 is now over.
During five intensive days more than 130 participants trained their skills on the piano, violin, guitar, accordion, in choral singing, and orchestral playing under the professional guidance of twelve renowned instructors.
In addition to the master classes, the young musicians took part in many lectures, discussion forums and a workshop concerning stage fright.
As in every edition of the festival, we visited the beautiful old town of Bremen and had the honour to explore the private art gallery of Mrs and Mr Hollweg.
Furthermore, everyone took part in a guided tour through the Mercedes-Benz factory in Bremen, one of the largest in the world.
As usual, the young artists had the opportunity to present their musical skills at two incredible concerts. Firstly on the Participants’ concert which took place in the concert hall of the University of Arts. The second and final concert concluded our festival in the inimitable upper hall of Bremen’s Town Hall, a UNESCO heritage. It was this very gala concert that brought together an audience of 400 people to admire the artistic achievements of the young musicians from Germany, Poland and Lithuania.
A novelty of this year’s festival was the participation of a group of young, disabled musicians from Gdansk, who we could also listen to at both concerts and whose performances were featured in the television programme by 'buten un binnen’.
We congratulate all the participants on their incredible development and thank all co-organisers and educators wholeheartedly for their perseverance, help and great commitment.
See you next year, sincerely, M.Z.
